Technical Lead (Edge Manager)

Job Description

The Edge Manager Technical Lead will lead the technical direction and development of
Edge Manager including software development and product releases. They may also be
involved in hiring and training staff and delegating work assignments. Technical Leads are responsible for the overall planning and implementation of complex software solutions.

They are required to evaluate their team’s work processes, follow best practises and implement changes to streamline operations. A great technical lead thinks ahead, anticipates risks, and addresses them before they cause a problem for the team.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development of Edge Manager
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders including CTO and Technical Director
• Understand and predict the needs of the product management team contributing towards project completion
• Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks
• Support continuous improvement of IOTech services and processes
• Conduct due diligence as far as analysis and design of any projects undertaken
• Set technical direction for team, making sure everyone understands and follows major technical decisions
• Establish and maintain technical standards and best practices
• Act as interface between the development team and product management
• Motivate and encourage team to give their best
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence through code reviews and knowledge sharing

Skills Knowledge and Experience

• Experience developing scalable management solutions for the Edge
• Deep understanding of edge challenges and solutions
• Strong background in Agile methodologies, preferably Scrum
• Expert in one or more specific technical fields
• Highly experienced as a professional software developer
• Able to demonstrate excellent coding skills in Go
• Experience working in containerised environments (Docker/Kubernetes)
• A great problem solver, planner and logical thinker
• Passionate about technology and developing high quality code
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, conscientious, honest and works well in a team
• Strong analytical skills
• Adaptable to emerging technologies and changing priorities
• Leadership skills
